Krista Pettit is excited to serve her community through One Mission Cambridge! She is an experienced nonprofit Director, having previously served as Executive Director in another organization on the Eastern Shore for over 20 years. She deeply desires to show the love of Jesus to all who enter the doors of the mission center through practical means and prayer. Krista's passion is encouraging all Christian Churches to serve together.
Krista is married to Chris Pettit, a Global Methodist Pastor, and serves alongside him through church activities. They both enjoy hiking and camping outdoors and spending quality time with their two grown children.
In July, Shelly stepped up from being a valued volunteer to take on the responsibility of managing our food pantry and resource center. She moved to the Eastern Shore from Michigan with her husband and son in 2011, quickly falling in love with a place that felt like home. She comes to us with a twenty-eight year history of work in the healthcare industry as a nursing assistant and licensed nurse. With heavy emphasis on individual case management, she developed a passion for assisting patients and advocating for better care, and noticed an area for improvement in connecting vulnerable populations to available resources. Since leaving the healthcare industry, she has opened two successful e-commerce businesses, but her desire to give back to others led her to volunteer with us in March. She is excited for the opportunity to make an even bigger impact in the lives of her community!

Short Biography
I was born and raised on the eastern shore of Maryland, and went to Saints Peter and Paul from kindergarten through high school. I graduated from the University of Colorado, Boulder, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology. I returned to Maryland and began my teaching career in Severna Park, where I also resided. I taught various grades for nearly 15 years, and then placed my career on hold to help raise my stepchildren. Now, I am focusing on my career again, and have also returned to the eastern shore and to Grace Methodist Church. This refocusing has led me to the decision to pursue a life devoted to the ministry of Jesus. I am currently taking classes to become a certified lay minister - with the ultimate goal of preaching the Word of God - and help teach Adult Bible School. I am active in Grace’s Nursing Home Ministry. Before being presented with the opportunity to work for One Mission Cambridge, I was a volunteer. Now, I look forward to being able to serve God and the community in a greater capacity, as assistant manager at One Mission Cambridge.
